Test Sessions

Freeskate, Moves in the Field, and Adult Tests are hosted by
The Skating Club of Southern Connecticut throughout the year.
Tests are open to Club members and non-members.

Virtual Test Session Info
Registration is now open and all skaters must be registered by September 17, 2024.  All video submissions must be sent by September 20, 2024 and results will be released by September 27, 2024. This session will be open to both members and non-members of SCSC.   Detailed instructions about videotaping the test as well as information about the required Performance Affidavit are available in the two PDFs below.

USFS adopted new testing rules as of July 1, 2023.

The updated rulebook will be posted at the USFS website soon. A top-line summary of changes is as follows:

  • Test names changed as of July 1, 2023.

  • Virtual test videos must be filmed within 14 days of the video submission deadline for a virtual test.

  • Skaters must clearly identify themselves in all virtual tests – including partnered pattern and free dance.  Simply having someone else say the skater's name is no longer acceptable.

  • There must be a digital timestamp from a phone/device that has the day and month along with the time visible at the beginning of the test.

In-Person Test Session Info

The Test Sessions will be conducted in accordance to rules set forth by U.S. Figure Skating.

All skaters must be members in good standing with U.S. Figure Skating.

Test applications are submitted electronically via Entryeeze and are due two weeks prior to the test session.

A late fee will be charged for all late applications.

Submitting an application is not a guarantee that the Skating Club of Southern Connecticut will be able to schedule you for the Test Session.

If the Test Session is over-subscribed, applications submitted prior to the due date will be accepted in the following order:

  • Home Club members including Collegiate members

  • Associate members

  • Guests from other clubs.

Skaters will be assigned a testing time, only when the application is complete. Special testing times cannot be accommodated.

The test schedule will be e-mailed one week prior to the scheduled test date.

Only coaches who are fully compliant with U.S. Figure Skating will be permitted to coach at the test session.
If a skater has to scratch for any reason, as a courtesy, please promptly notify the Test Chair.
